I have 2 children, one with synesthesia: he is male, age 9, right handed. In addition to seeing letters and numbers in color, he also sees shapes in color, and has associations for certain words, i.e., my name is "wintergreen" to him. My brother doesn't have chromesthesia, but he does see numbers, days and months in unusual sequences. Another brother sees numbers and letters as having gender and personality, yet he has no chromesthesia either. |
