This is what you see:

I regularly see images such as the one I re-created for the website. When I am stroked or touched a picture just pops into my head. Sometimes I see it projected on to what I am looking at and sometimes it is in my mind's eye, but they are always small individual pictures, like a biscuit, a red umbrella, a frog etc. One time I had a pain in my side and when I pressed it I saw a cup and saucer filled with smalI potatoes. I know it's odd, but that's what I saw! Sometimes it is an ordinary thing, like a china jug and sometimes it is something I could not have really seen, like a seahorse in such bright colours I cannot describe it. I am 43 years old and have had these pictures as long as I can remember. They are always vivid and memorable and are much stronger if I have an emotional connection with the person stroking me. I have noticed that this is different from other people who have synesthesia. Others normally see blobs or patterns, but for me it is usually pictures. If there is anybody else who has the same experience or who can explain why I don't get repeatable colours and patterns, I would love to hear from them.
